2010 Reports | McKenzie Frenzie

19 June, 2010

On Saturday June 19th Calgary Kyokushin Karate once again took part in the annual McKenzie Frenzie. After many many days of rain, Mother Nature decided she would cooperate and provided the Frenzie with some beautiful weather for the day

Once again our club sponsored the Sumo wrestling station. This is where individuals attending the Frenzie can put on a large suit that simulates them being sumo wrestlers, indeed it was fun for all to watch and participate in.

The Frenzie acts as one of our main events for showcasing our club and Kyokushin Karate in the community. Between Sumo sessions the crowd enjoyed the many different and unique demonstrations that our members came up with. All aspects of Kyokushin Karate were covered including Kihon, Ido geiko, Kata, Self-defense, tameshiwari, Sparring and even officiating. Great job everyone.

Throughout the day members of the club talked with many individuals about our club and Kyokushin karate. Members distributed many registration forms and hundreds of free "BRIGHT" T-shits with our new club logo. By mid day it was a sea of Calgary Kyokushin Karate T-shirts...So Cooool.

Many thanks go out to all who came out and helped support the event. Great job once again everyone; you did an excellent job representing our club and Kyokushin Karate. THIS IS KARATE.
