Alberta Open Karate Tournament

On
March 31st, 2007 eight fighters from Calgary Kyokushin
Karate headed up to Edmonton for the 2007 Alberta Open. This year
the tournament venue was changed and was actually held at the
community centre that the local club trains in. Because of the
more intimate venue, the energy from the crowd and participants
was felt by all as it completely filled the room. 75 competitors
from six IKOK-C dojos fought hard to see who would become the
champion in their respective divisions. In the end our Club did
extremely well. In fact everybody placed in at least one of their
divisions. In the end our eight competitors received 10 medals.
Congratulations to you all. Great job. Also a special thank you to
Sensei Nathan and his hard working crew for a greatly run
tournament. Thanks also to all the parents and supporters that
helped make this day possible for our students. Hope to see you
all next year.
