Black and Brown Belt Camp
12-14 June, 2015
Black and Brown Belt Camp
On June 12th-14th the annual IKOK-C Brown and Black Belt Camp was held in Armstrong BC. Returning to the North Okanagan where I began my Kyokushin training in the 1980's is always a highlight for me, and this year was no exception. The camp takes place at the Armstrong Dojo. Sensei Larry Robinson and his dedicated crew once again did an excellent job of organizing the weekend. The training provided by the various instructors brought us back to the basics. The weekend continually stressed the importance of the basics and how we need to continually strive to ensure our technique is proper not only for ourselves but more importantly to ensure our students do not develop bad habits. Indeed the basics sometimes just don’t seem so basic. On Saturday evening participants gathered at Sensei Robinsons’ home and enjoyed a FANTASTIC Okanagan BBQ. It was wonderful training and seeing friends from the Okanagan and around BC again. Thank you Sensei for your continued hard work and dedication to this camp but more so for your continued efforts in advancing Kyokushin Karate in Canada in general.
