Friendship Tournament

On Saturday, October 24th the 13th annual Calgary Friendship Tournament was held at the McKenzie Lake Community Centre in Calgary AB. This year over 135 individuals participated in the event. Divisions were held in non-contact and knockdown kumite as well as Kata. As in the past everyone was put on a team and gathered points for their teams with each victory. Everyone was also guaranteed at least two matches. This year however each division competed until there was an individual winner for each division. Results were

In the end it was team one who ended up in first place with 47 points. Congratulations. Whether as a participant, official, marshal or volunteer everyone did an outstanding job and gained some very valuable experience. This event is only made possible because of the co-operation, time and help of all of the members of Calgary Kyokushin Karate. A great big Thank you goes out to all of you for once again working together to get the job done. THIS IS KARATE.
