2019 INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT- JAPAN

From April 20-21 the 2019 International Friendship Tournament (IFT) along with the 36th All Japan Weight category took place at the Musashinomori Sports Plaza in the district of Chofu in Tokyo Japan. Over 1800 competitors entered the Championships. Sempai Spencer Gillespie from Calgary along with Sempai Chrysat Allogo from the New Brunswick Branch were the lone competitors from Canada. Sempai Chrysat unfortunately lost in the first round in a very close match against his first opponent from Japan. Semap Spencer was fortunate enough and managed to win his first round match however lost in the second round. For Sempai Spencer it was his first victory at the International level. Congratulations! The next IFT will be held in Conjunction with the 12th World Open in November of this year. Hopefully Canada will have a strong showing.
